Guten Morgen
Dear Aprilia Marketing Department
Be a Racer Club................I feel that its a dead duck.............simply not useful.
I have been thinking about this initiative from the Aprilia factory/Piaggio for some time. There are a number of questions that spring to mind.
Q: What would this offer me?
A: I will answer this later, once other people have posted their ideas, because I am currently uncertain of the values for myself.
Q: Would I want to be on a mailing list of the company that has created my beloved bikes?
A: I do not interact with BMW (the maker of my car) and they have me on their list since 2009 because I dont want to buy a new car and so far I have had no intrest in getting deeper into cars. I might be interested in regular udates from Aprilia, depending on the contentens.
Q: What do I want from the maker of my bike for the bike?
A: I get my bike serviced at regular intervals and I usually do a lot shorter intervalls, so warrenty on the racetrack would be cool.
I am a hobby racer and I want access to parts that enhance the performance of the bike at a reasonable price.
Q: Would I join an international forum?
A: The answer is a clear No. I very much enjoy out German V4-Forum and I have focused on this platform. I have stoped posting at Italobikes and I can see that a lot of people have moved to the V4-Forum. I would very much prefer that Aprilia/Piaggio supports the V4-Forum and in return I am happy to share my thoughts as a customer.
I have found that it is sometime very helpful to scan the American AF1 Forum, but I dont see myself posting there. The Americans are different and the Italiens are different. We all have our local circles and mates and its much more fun for me to interact with a like minded enthusiast whom I sometime even meet during a track day.
Q: Would there be a role for Aprilia/Piaggio to update the owners of their bikes with infomation/trends from other regions (e.g extracted for the post of the users of other local newsgroups/forums?
A: I would think so.
Q: What would be a good frequency for mailings and what contens would desirable?
A: How about a 2 monthly newsletter? I would like to get informations of what I can do to get the most out of the bike. Technical tips, Tutorials of how to choose the right settings of the APRC System and what happens when you do this or that, demonstrated with video clips.
Wie gesagt, das sind nur ein paar Ideen..........
Gruss
Christoph
